- Team-First Attitude: We support you daily, and we expect a professional who brings positive energy, respects our clients, and collaborates smoothly with our scheduling concierge team to uphold our values of integrity and care.
- Reliable Punctuality & Communication: We understand that mobile scheduling shifts dynamically throughout the day. Because of that, we focus our reliability expectations on starting your day on time and maintaining proactive, timely communication with clients whenever arrival times may shift during the day.
- Grooming Efficiency & Van Safety: While we never rush a pet, a successful mobile career requires an experienced stylist who knows how to manage their workspace efficiently and maintain a steady, productive daily pace. Alongside workspace efficiency, proper and safe operation of the mobile van is critical to protecting our team, our equipment, and the pets in our care.
- Guaranteed Pay Protection: We offer a minimum commission schedule plus 100% of tips during your first 90 days to protect your compensation levels while you build your consistent client base.
- Premium Long-Term Compensation: High commission splits, 100% of tips, and elevated, higher commission rates specifically for cat grooms to reward your specialized handling skills.
- Healthcare & Wellness Benefits: Medical, dental, and life insurance, along with dedicated wellness benefits, are available for our full-time team members working 35+ hours a week after a 90-day introductory period.
- HRA Premium Support: To help protect your paycheck, we offer a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) with a monthly allowance to directly contribute toward your health insurance premiums (eligible after 90 days of employment).
- Work-Life Balance for All (PTO): Paid Time Off (PTO) is available for both full-time and part-time groomers after a 90-day introductory period.
- Professional Development: We are invested in your long-term success. Professional industry certification programs are available directly through Bark & Mane if you qualify, helping you continuously elevate your craft.
- Mobile Field Training: Coming from a traditional brick-and-mortar shop? No problem. We provide extensive, hands-on training to teach you how to safely operate, manage, and groom inside a premium mobile van setting.
- Zero Fleet Hassle: We provide the premium Mercedes Sprinter van, cover all fuel costs, and supply high-end products. You just focus on the pets.
- Full Concierge Support: Never answer phones or chase payments. Our dedicated daily scheduling team handles 100% of your booking, required documentation, routing logistics, and initial scheduling updates, freeing you up to focus on your hands-on clients. (Note: Groomers are expected to maintain accurate, direct communication with clients regarding on-shift schedule adjustments and at the time of grooming service).
- We Cover the Overhead: We fully cover the costs of your customized uniforms and all professional tool sharpening to keep your equipment in perfect shape.
- Experience: Must have 3+ years of professional pet grooming experience (either salon or mobile).
- Feline Specialty: At least 2 years of hands-on experience handling cats in a professional salon environment or a veterinary setting.
- Portfolio Submission: To be considered, you must provide a portfolio of your recent dog and cat grooms. Please highlight any specific specialties you have with certain breeds (e.g., hand-stripping, doodle coat management, breed-standard cuts, or advanced feline styles).
- Pacing & Mental Focus: Mobile grooming requires working independently inside a van while maintaining high-performing efficiency. Stylists must possess the mental focus, time-management skills, and emotional resilience to handle solo workspace dynamics, interact positively face-to-face with clients, and maintain a steady, productive daily pace when schedules dynamically shift.
- Physical Capabilities: Must be physically capable of safely lifting heavy dogs at times when required as part of your grooming routines.
- The Feline Advantage: While dog grooming is a massive part of our business, having strong cat grooming skills is a huge plus! Because feline styling is a specialized skill, we ensure you are paid a higher commission rate for every cat client you groom.
- Daily Commute Requirement: Must have reliable transportation to start and end your shifts daily at our dispatch hub located in Northwest San Antonio right off IH-10.
- Gentle Handlers: True alignment with our low-stress philosophy. No rushed grooms, no forceful restraints.
- Reliable & Clean Drivers: A clean, valid Texas driver’s license is mandatory, along with the comfort level to safely operate our premium mobile spas.
