- No degree is required;
- Ability to lift and carry dogs up to 50 lbs;
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods during grooming sessions;
- Comfort working in a mobile grooming unit, which may involve limited space and frequent movement in and out of the vehicle;
- Ability to learn how and execute safely restraining and handling dogs of various sizes, temperaments, and energy levels;
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for grooming tasks such as clipping, scissoring, brushing, and nail trimming;
- Ability to work in varying temperatures depending on weather and grooming van conditions;
- Capability to drive and operate the mobile grooming vehicle, including navigating neighborhoods, parking, and stepping in/out multiple times per day;
- Stamina to perform multiple grooming sessions per day, sometimes with large or heavy-coated breeds.
